Shushtar historical hydraulic system, a masterpiece from Sassanid era.
Another Unesco-registered and must visit places in Iran is located in southwest of Iran. Shushtar historical hydraulic system is located in Shushtar city, Khuzestan province, and recognized to “as a masterpiece of creative genius”. This infrastructure is a set of linked bridges, mills, weirs and dams, canals, water cascades and tunnels. Shushtar historical hydraulic system was built in Sassanid era and helped to optimize the use and storage of water.
